Headlight Problem

I recently purchased a 72. When I shut the car off, my left headlight pops up. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but any hints would be appreciated. Thanks

Since it is only the left one, I suspect a vacuum leak in the top of your relay for that headlight. Could be the diaphragm inside the metal "hat" or the small, white-striped hose connected to it. If the diaphragm is leaking, there is no repair I know of and the relay must be replaced.

A quick test for this is:
with engine running , pinch the small hose going to the metal hat of the left relay,wait for 15 seconds,if the HL pops up you have a leak in the hat or the little white striped hose between your pliers and the hat.
