Here's a nice link describing the Protect-o-plate. It from a Camaro site, but does a good job. Click on section 12 to see what they have on the POP. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#POPCodes
Here's the useless information of the day: Protect-O-Plate is also a graphite and oil kind of stuff that comes in a gallon can and can be used for things like applying to boiler manhole gaskets so that the extreme heat and pressure don't cook the gasket to the boiler. It also works for reducing friction in high heat applications. I don't even know if you can buy it anymore. We have a couple of cans at work that is older than dirt, and we'll probably not ever need to buy more because all we use it for is boiler rebuilds. Maybe I'll read the can and see what the stuff is really for. Stay tuned, more useless information to come.
Basically it's a metal credit card like thing which they used to make an imprint when they did warranty work. Has the vital VIN, engine option info etc... ~Juliet
