TACH?
I just received a full carpet kit, heater pad, shifter console, rear compartments from ZIP but have decided after the fact to tackle all the interior problems. First the TACH. At WOT the TACH stops climbing past 3000 rpm and bounces between 2500-3000 RPM. ZIP has a circuit card that costs $69 and hopefully that is it and not a whole new TACH which is $350.00 plus. The ZIP guy does not know the answer. Two the A/C Heater control is old and needs replacement. The 1977 face shown does not match mine. Mine does not have a clear plastic face over the unit but raised letters, which I think is a 1974-1976 model. The 1977 face has a picture of a little fan by the fan control switch while mine has lo-high with little notches between lo and high. Is this the correct unit? My Vette was built early Feb 77 and I think they put in a 76 part. If you have any idea please let me know before I order.

IT IS NOT THE TACH CARD...it's the tach filter, that black 1/2" dia 2" long cylinder wit white wires sticking out from it...inline with the tach wiring, unless someonw removed it, it's mounted by a clip on the rear of the engine somewhere, maybe the cyl head...it's inseries with the tach wire to card....
do a search here for wiring diagram in order to build one..out of radio shack parts...cheap....unavailable from GM....
