Default measurment needed

My car has too many shims on the upper, passenger door hinge. I have an extra 1/2 inch somewhere. If someone with an unhit car could measure the width between the fenders at the point 8 inches forward the rear of the fender where the hood ends. This is at the rear of the strip above the windshield wiper well.

This will be very helpfull

Thanks
Tom

I measured that for you on my '81, and it is 1131 mm, which equals 44.5"
Trust this helps.

Thanks Cor,

I am also at exactly 44.5 also. It looks like the middle of the fender is out at the rear. I did not want to go too far forward as I move the fender in and not be able to close the hood.
