I've finally gotten all of the mechanical problems in my 75 L-48 fixed so ive been looking at things I can do to make the car a little less anemic...I've already rebuilt the engine, increased the compression, put a mild cam, and yesterday installed hooker sidepipes with the 2.5 maxflow inserts...I'm very happy with the throttle response the the open exhaust gave me...im rather competent with repairs but when it gets into more technical performance upgrades it goes a little Greek on me...could anyone offer a crash course in things such as upgrading the heads, carb, and intake manifold.

Kinda putting the cart before the horse? How exactly did you increase the compression?
Without sounding like an idiot I'm just going to preface this by reiterating that engine work is not my strong suit...when I spun a betting at 145,000 miles the machine shop that rebuilt the engine said that when he replaced all the internals with more modern parts and seals that it would increase the compression...was that just a line of BS that I believed?
well... if he put in new pistons with a different dish or possibly even flat top with valve reliefs this would change your compression ratio... honestly before you can choose the Heads you need to know what the combustion chamber size of the pistons are so that you can choose the best combustion chamber size for your heads.
