Man, I hate to keep harping on the same thing! Earlier, I had no main beams and the high beams worked fine. Someone suggested cleaning the tabs on the main beams, which sounded like a good idea. I did it and now I have main beams and no high beams...go figure. At least I can drive at night without annoying everyone.
It seems unlikely the high beam switch would go out at the precise time I cleaned the terminals. It's more likely I did something boneheaded. Looking at the harness, it seems if there was a problem with the driver's side light plug, it would affect the rest of the lights, as the power seems to pass through it first.
I'm not familiar with how the high beam system works. There are green, brown, and black wires on the main beam plug and green and black wires on the high beams. I took the contacts out of the driver's side main beam plug and cleaned them good. It didn't fix the problem and I'm out of ideas at this point so any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
Tan is low beam , green is high beam in both inner and outer bulbs.
Do you have voltage on the green when the high beams are on ?
Is the high beam indicator on ?
