Window goes up too far!

Window goes up too far!

I have power windows on my 79 and have performed the adjustments per shop manual and AIM yet driver's side still goes up about 1/4" too far. Could something be worn or is there a trick to this? These windows are a real PITA!

Hi r,
As part of your adjustment procedure did you set the upper stop in the top of each of the 2 vertical tracks per side?

Yes I did but I will recheck that again....

Lowering the window stops in the run channels should solve the problem.

I see no way they could go too far up if the stops are set correctly.

I got the window height and all other adjustments fine tuned now. I've been messing with the windows for several days and finally figured out everything through trial and error. I think I could adjust them blind folded now. They're not perfect but as close as it gets without taking all the guts out and replacing a lot of parts which is not my plan right now. Thanks for everyone's comments....
