Basically an air compressor moisture seperator. I put it in my line between the PVC and the carb. End up draining about 1-2 tablespoons of oil every 500 miles or so. Cuts down on the blue puffs. Worth it for the $$$ invested.
Will a catch can prevent smoke from exiting the exhaust when the engine is cold? My car throws out smoke upon start up, but once warm it doesn't smoke at all. I think this might prevent this from happening?
this is what i've got. if you look right behind the valve cover it's mounted to the firewall. don't remember the name of the place ,but i do remember it was a mustang supply house on ebay. it works just the way i wanted it to. not only oil but water vapor as well. http://stores.ebay.com/Billet-Depot?_trksid=p4340.l2563 found em..

No. No need for a catch can on any reasonable street driven car either.

no it won't prevent smoke. sounds like your valve stem seals are getting old.
Just finished mine a few weeks ago... Cost under $40 for the whole deal.
6' of 3/4" heater hose with 2 elbows and 1 T-fitting ~$15
Walgreens Aluminum water bottle- $5
Autozone Breather-$15
Hose clamps-$3
Made a bracket to replace the washer tank, sanded/brushed the water bottle (it was pink ) drilled the threads out on the top for the breather grommet and drilled the side for the hose barb. Done.
My valve covers didnt have any baffling for breathers, so I was stuck using crappy push in baffles that would pool oil and spit out of the breathers. This setup works much better

vette427-sbc, that's solid ingenuity. What about draining?
Thanks! I actually made it the morning of an auto-x so I didnt have time to find/make a drain. Its easy enough to pull out and check once in a while. I checked it a few days later and there was maybe a few drops at the bottom. Ill get around to a drain eventually...
