another vett that wont start
I have purchase a 76 that doesn’t start I have eliminated some things. but the starter act like there is no power.
I have a good working battery
the ground cable has been replace
the starter has been benched and does work
I have power getting to the main terminal on the starter
the starter doesn’t do anything when the you try to start the car
fuses are fine but I will replace any way when that comes in the mail
the steering column lever is pushing on the switch so the sector gear is good
this leaves two possibilities there a bad wire or the column switch is bad or ?
what can I do to test these with out tearing apart the harness or pulling the column any advice?

Do you have normal accesssories working with the key on, ie radio, gauges, windshield wipers? If so, you may have a problem with the neutral start switch if it's an automatic trans or clutch switch if manual trans. If no accessories work, may be a fusable link burnt out.

other than the parking brake light and an annoying buzzer I have no lights, wipers, ect but I thought that was a bad ground.
I have heard of fusable links in the harness but have no Idea what they are or their purpose hopefully some one can chime in. looks like I will start unhooking the harness to test it out.

Consider this post closed
after running another 12v line to the starter and started cranking I have found out there is no fuel getting to the carb and no power to the spark plugs
so I have to pull the harness and fix it or replace it and I will have to troubleshoot the fuel system next
