been cruising the vette a little and noticed a rattle coming from the flywheel/motor/trans area... dad told me that there is a plate under the trans that has access to a few bolts to tighten up. curious what it could be before i take it to the trans shop and have them do it.... i don't want to get hustled at the shop so need to find out my options now. also the trans shifts hard from 1st to 2nd with a jerk...only when i'm cruising slow and it shifts....
or i could just save my money and drop a ls motor/trans in it next year

The inspection cover has four small bolts that cover the flex plate. The flex plate has I believe five bolts and the torque converter has three. I would hate to think that either one of those had a loose bolt that rattled. Perhaps its one of the small bolts that hold the inspection cover on and the cover is rattling.
