Need help with Auto Trans problem
79 L-82 w/auto trans
When put in gear the trans makes a 1/16th turn counter clockwise and then rotates 1/8th turn clockwise as it engages causing a thump. Could this be caused by the modulator?
Any info would be helpfull at this point.
U-joints and yokes are sound for now, but at this rate they won't be for long.

From where are you measuring the amount of trans turning? All I can imagine is that both the engine and the transmission as a unit is torquing over. If that is the case, check your motor mounts. Hope this helps????
