Temperature sender?
I put vortec heads on my 78 corvette. The hole in the head is for a smaller sending unit. I got one from G.M. that fits the head but now the gauge reads about 40 degrees to cool. Anyone know of a sending unit that will read right?

I have the same problem with my 1980 Duntov Turbo... I got a new sensor and it shows approx. 40 - 50 degrees too low temperature... I am curioius to see some answers here!

All I can say is good luck finding one that reads right. I had a hard time finding a correct reading one on my 73. I eventually gave up and made the old one work (tang broke off).

Mine reads 45 degrees hihger than actual. You may end up having to put a resistor in line to correct for it. You can search the archives. Many threads on this subject.
