Default 69 SB Harrison Radiator

Folks,

My Harrison radiator is weeping, time to replace. I'd like to replace with another Harrison. Who sells a replacement Harrison SB (4sp), non AC radiator?

Jim

Are your tanks OK? A good shop re-cored mine using the original tanks and even put on the original id tag. My Dad was an engineer at Harrison Radiator back in the 50's when I was born.

Dewitt's sells the best radiator in the business IMO. They look correct and perform better than original.

That description doesn't narrow it down enough. Is it copper or aluminum? Does your radiator have the integral cap or do you have an expansion tank? Perhaps it only needs to be cooked out and re-soldered.

I don't think they make aluminum stacked plate style replacement radiators anymore.

Hi Jim,
I believe the 69 base engine ,4-speed, non a/c, car you described did use the aluminium radiator.
If you're interested in originlity the DeWitt reproduction is a very nice choice for a radiator that looks just like the original; AND cools great (as cape said)!
There are certainly cheaper replacement radiators but none with the appearance of the original Harrison.
Regards,
Alan

I tried to go this route with mine a couple years ago. I called 3 shops in my area (suburban Chicago); 2 said they stopped re-coring some time ago and "nobody does it anymore," and the other shop quoted me $600, said the core itself would cost him upwards of $300.

I have read nothing but good things about Dewitts but I couldn't afford one from them. I found a low-price alternative that fit very well and have been really pleased with it.

If you do a re-core please post details & costs--I still have my original radiator and would think about getting it done. Thx

Correct.
Have you checked into having yours cleaned and repaired?

As mention, if you have the base car with no options (auto, ac, rpo)
the you have the same aluminum radiator that came in your 63sw.

We do make a Direct Fit replacement for that application

But if you have AC, or Auto, or L46, or LT1 or any combination of those items, then you need the A70 model

Guys,

Thanks for all the advice. Sorry, I should have posted the engine. It's for my 1969 vert 350/350 L46 (4sp, PS, PB, no AC). Loks like some good options. I see that Cranes make replacement Harrisons. Any experience?
