I am having issues with my transmission going into gear.
I was deployed for a year without the vehicle moving. Once I got back, I moved and had problems getting it into gear during the move.
I changed the transmission fluid and filter this weekend thinking that was the problem. It feels like it goes into gear but when I press on the accelerator, the vehicle barley moves forward or backwords but the engine revs. Not sure what the issue is.
I ran it for about 10 min and filled to the proper level. Fluid wasn't very hot after 10 minutes. Wondering if there is circulation problems somewhere. Don't know too much about transmissions so hopefully a fairly easy fix.
Your shift cable may be worn and flexing so that it can't move the shift shaft properly. You will have to get under the car and watch the action of the shift shaft while someone else moves the shifter.
