Default New shocks needed?

Have about 29K miles on Monroe Sensatrac shocks, but 8 years. When I do the bounce test on each fender, they bounce not at all. Up, down and stop. So, shocks still good, even though 8 years old with relatively low mileage? Can't spend $ I don't have.

It isn't time that wears out shocks, it is cycles up and down. Unless you've been running on un-maintained logging roads they have a ton of life left in them at 29,000.

My 82 had 28K miles on it when I bought it last year with the original shocks. The bounce check was good. The leak check was not. The right front was leaking so I replaced all four with Bilstein Sports.

My shocks are 28+ years old and still going fine.
Bounce test ,OK
No leaks.
Not rusted out.
I think you're good to go.

I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it, if not leaking. Munroe makes a nice product that lasts. If they do go, probably step to Bilstein mono-tubes. Really not that expensive, and pretty much one of the highest quality products. Doubt you'll ever need to change them again in your lifetime. Actually, last time I checked, they're lifetime warranted.
