I have been considering replacing my bw t-10 with a t-5. Looking at different sites, it seems that starting in 88 the F body V6 T5 was upgraded to WC specs. The lower 1st. gear ratio they have would help with my 3.08 rear. Any thoughts?

The '88-92 V8 T5s were WC, the V6 boxes went WC '93 and later----no T5s behind V8s after '92
The tranny-to-bellhousing mounting bolt pattern went to Ford style in '93
The bellhousing (to engine) mounting bolt pattern is different from V6 to V8, unless the V6 was a 4.3
The V8 boxes had higher torque ratings than the V6 units, but the max for the GM V8 T5 was only somewhere around 300lb/ft-----probably why they were never matched to anything bigger than a 305
I strongly suggest you research these issues further. If anyone else knows fer-sure differently by all means jump in and correct me.

You're right. I was looking for a low-buck way for a good T-5 conversion but this is not it.
