I'm told that the "patches" just behind the door and in front of the wheel well on the lower part of the rear quarter panel are add-ons to protect from rock damage, etc. The one on the passenger side is cracked.
Has anyone ever seen these before? And how can the damage guard be repaired or replaced?
Thanks. The wording of the ad at the link leads me to believe that that product is more of a tape while these appear to be made of either plastic or fiberglass material - thus they have an ability to become "chipped" and "cracked" themselves. Nonetheless they appear to be intended to perform the same guard function. The next trick will be to decide how best to repair/remove/replace these without causing damage to the body and paint below. And it appears that they may have been added before the last paint job.
As always, your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated. No need to lean everything the hard way...

Way late but I just noticed this post. After the repair and the paint is cured, you might want to look into Cleartastic "dog leg" paint protectors.
Its the only clear film that has NO adhesive!
You apply it yourself. Removable and reusable. Invisible once applied.
