Default Can door panels be "reconditioned"???

I wonder if there are places that "recondition" door panels.
The door panels on my 68 are in decent shape. However - they have some small cracks and a little larger crack at the door handle (early 68 style)...
Can they be reconditioned? If yes - what kind of place can do that?

thanks

Olivier

If it's possible to recondition them - how much could this cost?

I can get new 68 door panels for approx. $140 each...

I could be wrong on this but I believe that Corvette America reconditions door panels and dashes by reskinning them. There is also a company called Just Dashes that does the same thing. If I remember correctly Just Dashes isn't cheap but if you're trying to cover the dash of a Desoto they're the only game in town. Check both out but don't be surprised if the cost of reconditioning is almost as much as buying a new part. Labor tends to make things expensive. Hope this helps.

My 68 panels were just about like yours. Just a couple of cracks, but were pretty bad around the door lock mechanisms

I ordered a pair from pacifca corvette, about $300 for both. I liked them as the insides were molded high impact plastic instead of that card board stuff. The outside is vynil covered like the original. The trim pieces you just transfer over

I restored my interior by cleaning and dyeing all parts, but the door panels, if torn, either need to recovered, or order new ones. Recovering is not cheap, and you are still stuck with that flimsy card board on the inside

The new ones I got really bring out the interior. You really dont know how bad your door panels really look until you sit them by a set of new ones
