oil leak
the only time i come on this site is when i have a problem and to read up, hopefully one day i will be able to answer someone else problem.
i have a pretty bad leak in the intake manifold, is it likely to just be a gasket? should i start with replacing the gasket or is there other signs i should be looking for?

Where is it leaking? At the rear, I'd start looking at the oil pressure sender. They have been known to leak. Past that, the seal between the "china wall" (rear of the block) and intake. Down the sides, oil wicks up past the threads on the intake bolts. Pull them one at a time, clean and apply sealant.
