WoW ! - both headlights pop up !!!
Just replaced the seals on the pass. side - it was a real 'pita' getting that eyelet off the end of the actuator....and voila !
Both headlights pop-up on command ! ...It's utterly amazing - no getting out of the car - no fiddling with pushing up the lights by 'hand' :eek: ....They just pop up when I pull the **** - WOW - I tell ya !!! :D :D :D
Pop-up ...pop-down -Pop-up ...pop-down -Pop-up ...pop-down :p:
Is that enough excitement for 1 day or what !?!? ....of course it's a 'Corvette' thing !!! :chevy :seeya

My 1978 lights are REAL SLOOOOWWW, and when I first bought my 1972, the lights are instantaneous. They still bring a smile to my face when I turn the lights on in my 1972. Oh, the simple pleasures in life :crazy:

I know the feeling. After suffering the embarassment of crawling under my car to push the lights up TOO many times (they didn't work when I bought the car), it was like a true miracle when I fixed them and they came up automatically. Sometimes, I now wait until someone is looking before pulling the switch, just so they can see how :cool: it is. :D The good thing is, once you've fixed them once and figured out all the little tricks, it becomes real easy. :cheers:

I almost had a heart attack when my headlight door started opening!! :eek: I thought the car was now possessed! It all started when I began re-connecting a lot of the vacuum hoses that Bubba disconnected. A couple days later the doors started working!
Now I'm trying to get the wiper door to start working too! It closes but just doesn't have enough umpf to open! :sad: :cry

My wiper door is disassembled and off the car :eek: ....has to clean & oil it so it'll operate easily again.... and then the wipers - ahhhhh (it has a new motor - but it's disconnected 'cause Bubba didn't pass Electrical Wiring 101 :lol: )
Man ! ...if I can get those wipers to work & with all that vacuum - my car will really suck - :lol: I'll hafta operated them everytime I pull into a car show. :D

I cured my wiper problem, don't drive it in the rain! I get a shower if I do from the windsheild and vert top leak. Fair weather car fur sur! :cool:

Nothing :cool: er in the world than an early C3 with the popup headlights and Wiper cover. NO ONE has a moveable wiper cover except an early C3!!!
Oh and thank you guys for not just leaving the malfunctioning headlight up all the time while the other one goes up and down :rolleyes:

Alright Paul!! I'll be there with my camera if you can make it Sat. I'll post a pic of the operation for you :cool. I know exactly how you feel as my 70 coupe never worked correctly...but the 72 (knock on wood!) works both headlights and wiper door (it was things like that that made me choose the car over a ratted out BBlock where nothing worked..although I really wanted a BBlock).
427V8 :( That is indeed a horrible sight to see the one headlight up, one down on a vette...I saw one just like that driving down the street a few days ago...hopefully the guy was going to get it fixed..but I doubt it :cry

Although mine used to be a candidate - I always manually operated the non-functional one - up until now ! :D
A few weeks ago I also fixed the inner door handle (so it opens the door) - now picture this : My wife and I decide to go out - she get in - buckles up and I start the car - pull the headlight **** & only 1 pops up.... now I had to put in neutral (hoping the car wouldn't roll much) just so I could manually 'lift' the other headlight assym.... a-r-r-g-g-h-h-h-h :cuss :mad - Never Again ! :yesnod: :smash: :chevy

Hey my old 70 was a candidate to...but I always manually did it...I refused to drive anywhere with the "One Eyed Jack" look!
Well at least you didn't have to tell the wife to hold the break for you :jester . I know my neighbors thought I had to be looney the other day when that ignition box went and I had to get flat beded home. Cars been torn down pretty much for a year....I barley get it out, and here it comes home under a helpers power...their giving me the :crazy: look......just don't understand. It was a little :bb though. But I'll get over it :lol:

I guess you have to be a Vettehead to understand. The wife doesn't understand when I get excited watching the headlamps and wiper door open. :troll
Hmmmmm... Now if I can fix my vacuum resouvior, I won't even need to start it to play a couple rounds of uppey/downey :D
