Default Steering Valve install question

I shipped my original, non-leaking but tired steering valve out for a rebuild. In return I was sent a basic rebuilt unit. (Bad service yet again)I installed it with the stud centered left to right. I am just about to bleed the system and was told by a friend this may not be correct. I did not find this in my searches, any help guys? Thanks

My ps valve has a has a ball stud that connects to the steering arm. The stud moves left to right and fore and aft. The center I refer to is from left to right of its' travel.

Thanks Jim, I just finished reading your bleed procedure earlier and hopefully it will work for me.

But there is no adjustment. The moving around is for actuating the valve. There is only one way to mount it.
