Thirty years ago. I'd have voted for Koni. Times change; Bilsteins have transformed both my Tundra and my one ton Dodge RAM. They do what no other shock comes close to doing!

I've got the VB KYB GR-2s front and back. They are a good all around shock for the street that works well with a glass spring. Smooth over the bumps and ok around the turns. I wouldn't get them if you want a serious performance shock.

I added "Tokico" to the list. I'm curious to see if any other forum members are using them. http://www.tokicogasshocks.com/

Bilsteins are probably the most popular shock for used by forum members with composite springs so they must be good.

GM made a shock that works almost perfect. It nearly eliminated the good compression/fast rebound personality that alot of the monosprings out there have. The number is 4993538 but I have been told that it is now discontinued. I don't know who came up with the number, if they are Corvette specific, or any shock rates or anything but someone did their homework and found these shocks that actually work. If you can find them, buy 'em!
