tried starting my car today after not being able to move it for more than 5 months due to a stuck parking brake. usually the car lights turn on (brake light, door light) but this time nothing. no sounds, no lights, not even a stutter when i turn the ignition. any idea's as to what the problem is or how to fix it? thanks

i've kept the battery plugged in almost the entire time it hasnt been used. its plugged in right now as well. The reason why i havent been able to take it out is because the parking brake for some reason will not come off and i had been able to start it before with only minimal trouble but now there is nothing and i have no idea what the next step is. im sorry but im kind of new to this, what other information do you need?

Check that your cable connections at the battery are clean. If not and your battery tender clamps were on them they'd probably not charge the battery.
Check the other end of the ground cable directly under the battery box at the frame.
Check the positive cable connector at the starter.
You don't want to see any white powdery stuff embedded in the cable wires at the connectors.

But first, I'd pull the battery and have it checked. Rule that out first.

there's no white residue on the cable wires or connectors. the connections at the battery look stable and pretty clean, they seemed to be working before and i havent moved/changed them since. the cables coming out of the battery are firmly connected, the one with the blue going downwards and the one with the red towards the front/engine (i have no idea what they are or where they are going haha). the wire i use to charge the battery is plugged into a Sears 1.5 Amp Fully Automatic Onboard Battery Charger Maintainer, the green "charging" indicator light is on, although the red "charged" light indicator has not been on in months. i also recently tried to jump start it, and again, nothing happened. the battery seems to be bolted down or held in place by something, is there a proper way to take it out?

I'm not trying to be nasty at all, but if you don't know how to remove the battery then you're in way over your head, here. You need to look for a buddy who has some automobile knowledge and can give you some first-hand assistance. All the explaining here isn't going to help you a whole lot. Sorry.
