Default diff. stub shaft

my rear camber was out of alignment which caused the stub shaft to push against the diff pin and wore it down to the snap ring grove . Can it be regroved and used again ? thanks for any help.

No, they must be the proper length. Right now i'd change the fluid in the diff because after all those years of the yoke getting shorter it's left a good pile of metal floating around which will eventually cause death to your differential.

Unfortunately, no. You'll have to get new ones, OR ones that have been repaired/restored with tool steel inserts. The camber issue.....you have it backwards. The wear on the ends of the stub axles cause the camber to become too negative....you can't correct it by adjusting the strut/camber rod. SO....the wear causes the problem. The excess camber does not create the wear. If you think about it, the stub axle, the half shaft, etc is both a drivetrain part and a suspension part. It's the stub axle that "holds" the top of the wheel out. New axles aren't too expensive. Get good ones. Chuck

Yes, they have to rest against the pin to maintain consistent camber.
