My tuner recommended that I buy NGK #7 spark plugs. I am currently running stock chevy 350 AC's. ANyone have expereince with these? Part#? Recomendations? Gap? My specs are as follow:
1978 Corvette
Carb – O.E. Qjet #17058206 1298CHX
350 CID .030 4 Bolt Main
64 CC Heads 2.02 1.600 AFR
Hi Rev lifters – Roller Rockers to Factory Ratio
Intake – Edelbrock Performer Air GAP 2601
Headers – Dynomax Ceramic coated # 86008 1-5/8in tubes, 3in collector - oval port 1.8 x 1.5
Hydraulic Cam
Accel HEI
all spark plugs do the same job and your using the correct one now...as long as the heat range is correct....AC 45TS or its equivalent as long as the heads are stock and reguardless of the name of the plugs.....The 45TS is a tapered seat plug and may not fit the heads correctly....aftermarket heads do not always use the OE plug size.....but .035 is the best performance gap
NGK #7 plugs typically refers to the heat range. Not sure why your tuner would recomend them unless you are in the 600 hp range with high compression. For your average engine you would be looking for an NGK plug in the 4 to 5 heat range.
