This kind of a wierd question but is anyone going to Bridge Day this year. For those who have no clue what I am talking about I will explain. The New Gorge River Bridge in West Virgina is almost 900 feet above the river once a year they have a festival where you can base jump from the bridge. I'm all about that, anything for adrenaline. I skydive all the time but I think that base jumping is just as much of a rush, only base jumping you have less time for error.
What are some of your hobbies?? :jester
hey joe...im an old sky diver...i gave it up about 4 yrs ago...have over 500 jumps...ive been to 2 "bridge days"...its lotsa fun....have fun and good luck!
gary the sign guy
I've taken up shark wrestling, if you look at my knuckles you can see that she almost got me while I was replacing the shocks and you know how sharks are with blood in the water :jester Seriously though my most dangerous hobby is paintball, especially if we all decide to play suicide ball, meaning open field with no cover and most of us playing with full autos, it's common to get hit 6 or 7 times before being able to say "dead" but it's lots of fun :D at least until you go to work the next day with welts all over.
For years I've had a serious passion for outboard drag boats..until recently.
After some near misses and a really bad accident last year where the boat I was in blew over backwards at over 100mph resulting in serious injuries I decided to give that hobby a rest..permanently. Stickin' to Vettes only now.
I ran a Mirage tunnel boat with over 300+ horses of fuel injected rompin' stompin' Mercury outboard hanging on the back. As the speeds increased over the years these boats have become very dangerous. I've watched some pals get killed and others seriously injured. I was fortunate beyond belief and almost rolled the dice one too many times. The boat wasn't worth dying over and I sold it to a young man, who as I once did, thinks he's invinceable. I wish him luck.
:D .....Skydiving is the most fun you can have with your clothes on...... :D
I had to give it up after 904 jumps, now some of my old friends have 5 and 6 thousand jumps, and only those with a deathwish got into BASE jumping.........I DO love to watch it tho.....HAVE FUN! Skies Call.
That's why I keep my clothes off as much as possible, so I don't do something stupid.
I think the only time I would jump at that height would be if I was in a building and it was on fire. Did anyone see the pictures of those people jumping out of the World Trade Center buildings? Even worse, on that CBS special where you could hear people hitting the glass roofs after they jumped. I can't image how those people felt jumping or how those people felt hearing it first hand. My heart really went out to both sets of people.
