Man, you know some folks are gonna pick on you for that rubber fuel line, so get ready for it! I think it's not a bad setup, myself. Cheap and effective. Is that an aluminum water pump? Very nice, every ounce of weight adds up. Those headers are the Summit Racing headers that you installed not long ago, right? The paint still looks good, is it the paint they had on 'em when ya bought 'em, or did you strip 'em down and re-paint 'em with something else?
Need to watch those foam air cleaners - the foam degrades on the bottom and goes right into the carb. Hood clearance is always a challenge, so there may not be any other easy options...

That reminds me, I had one just like it on my Roadrunner, years ago, had a backfire, damn thing caught fire and melted! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do to fit stuff under the hood, tho, and hey, it is pretty cool looking.......
I use that air cleaner just so I can detail/adjust stuff on the engine because its small, I will go with a round one later.
Thats the same paint that came on the headers, I started the car and let the paint "cure" several times then cool down and it will stay on there away anyway.
The rubber fuel line is the way I do all my hotrods, the metal filter is a first, the fuel pump made the plastic one pulsate so bad I thought it was going to burst.
Aluminum water pump, yes not a corvette type as I simply couldn't find one and in a good price range, but Im running electric fans so the larger snout didn't matter.
And dirty firewall, yes it is and its not easy to clean so that is taking time.
I also am getting rid of the air conditioning box for an after market one next.
'Im waiting for a certain big question, look real hard."

Does that question have anything to do with the vacuum system?

No.
I have the valve covers on the wrong sides, its way easier to put oil in the front of the engine than in the back and by the master cylinder, don't ya think?
Plus it is less vacuum hose with the pcv valve on this side.
Looking good. Swapping the valve covers sides does not matter, the PCV can still be put on dr. side. If a foam filter melts, it's a mess.
Guys, a low pressure fuel hose is commonly used safely by many & w/ it on top & easy to replace w/ filter changes for example they may commonly be in better condition then the hoses to pump on yours.
That fuel line is made by Goodyear and cost over $2 a foot so its got to be good!!!!
I started stripping the paint off the inner fenders with a small steel wire brush, its REAL easy and most places go all the way down to the gray fiberglass and its smooth also, paint should stick just fine.
I know I should have it pulled to a body shop for a total restored gun paint job but Me and Krylon satin are pretty good partners and im stepping up from Walmart flat black for .99 cents a can!!!!

When I bought my 'vette, the valve covers were already like that, I thought that was how the factory built them. My PO must have done the same thing you did. Yeah, I can't see trying to add oil back there, it's hard enough up front!
With the way they are I would have thought they were separate parts #s but both mine anyways say the same number and "RH".
Only thing they do have to be is the notches have to be toward the intake or up ways.
I had a rubber fuel hose running on my 1978 Z28 from pump to carb for about 4+ years and never had any problems with them. I never worried about that, so I don't think you will have any problem with that.

It will be fine unless you want to use a stock config type drop base air cleaner. When it is installed, the air INLET hose connects from the air cleaner base to the valve cover on the passenger side.
