Make sure that the latch is fully set around the pin. Meaning that if the cable going from latch to latch has been bent or damaged it may not allow the pass. side latch to fully engage the pin allowing the latch to release.
Also check that the cable is adjusted properly and that the pass. side latch is lubed and moving freely.
