Default Headlight "UP" adjustment?

I almost hate bringing this up again, but here goes. My 71 headlights in the UP position are not even. The drivers side is up a bit higher. Is there an adjustment for this?

I spent a good part of yesterday adjusting them per the AIM (UPC12 A2 & A3) and service manual and they seem to be adjusted fine. The links goes a bit over center and lock out. The warning switch is being pressed and the L bracket stop is touching the headlight frame. The lights are nice and solid in their up position. And they line up nice when closed.

I've read all the posts I could find and still don't see a way to control the UP position once the link is fully opened and locked out.

Driver side up higher than passenger side:

Hi Duff
Any chance that it's the bezel and not the mechanism adjustment?
Is it mounted correctly?
Have the bezels been off?
Can you take both off and put them next to each other on a flat surface to see if one of them is 'warped'?
How do the doors look in the closed position? Does the front corner of the headlight carrier need to be shimmed down a little?
That's all I can think of now.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

I figured it out. It's the linkage mount. The one with three bolts. The mount has slots and when it moves in and out, it adjusts the up position. I took the springs and actuator off and it was pretty easy to adjust.

Mount:

Now they line up pretty well.

Because I got them working so well now, I took a video. I was actually curious to see the linkage in action. Enjoy.

Default Well done!

Looks like you have the up and down perfect!
Now you have to get the open and close together.
Could be the actuator:

Or the relay:

You'll soon have them 100%

Was cleaning up the lights on my '68 at the weekend and found myself wondering the same question (although I want to move my passenger lights up 1/4"). Thank's for posting what you found out.
