I have the factory aluminum mags, and I don't have this problem. I'm on my second set of tires, and I didn't notice this with the first set, either. I'm not sure what to tell you...
I had this problem with one of my factory aluminum wheels. We took the tire off the wheel and spray painted the flat area between the rims with varathane. No more leak.
This is a problem with some of the mags. I noticed that the hole for the valve stem is larger than the other wheels I have. When Discount Tires mounted my BFG Comp T/A R1's they used chrome stems that used a nut and stud type of mounting with rubber seals being sandwiched between them, instead of the standard rubber grommet type of stem seal. My tires leaked a bit when I first bought the car...now they have been holding air for over a year, and the car even sits for long periods of time with no loss of pressure.
The first time GM used Alum rims as OE, there was a porosity problem with the alum casting and air was leaking thru the alum. Later year's alum wheels were cast differently and don not leak.
If you have the early issue wheels, I suggest removing the tire, cleaning thoroughly, allow to dry for several days and then paint/coat with a high quality paint like POR. Let this dry for a day or two and remount.
