69 optional hubcaps.......?
I've had a set of these in my garage for over 30 years, and now somebody is interested in them. How much are they worth do you think? Not NOS but very close........
I would say $200 each is the going rate for nice used PO2's. I've seen people asking as much as $1,000-1,200 for a mint set, but I don't think they sell for that kind of money too often.
That's an interesting picture you posted. It's clearly a 69, from looking at the doors, but it appears to have the 68 grills in it, from the chrome edges on them. Must be an early, or pre-production, GM publicity shot.
Before the economy tanked, a vendor at Carlisle had a NOS set of P02 covers...he wanted $1800 for them. A different vendor had a set of "restored" P02's...the facing side looked great but the backside had not been cleaned up...he was asking $800.
Still...I agree with the others that say $200 per cover for an excellent used example.
Early 69's had the 68 style silver faced grills. Not sure of the cutoff date though. Another of the running changes of the 69 early/late saga.
Not my intent to hijack the thread, but I have to ask. Where can I buy those grills for my 68? All of the vendors sell those black plastic grills, but would prefer the look of those chrome edged grills. Thanks!

Here's more of it for ya, but I don't know where it came from, sorry!
The cap in that pic is the '68 to early '69 PO2's as it has the extended, squared off center. The second design center is more rounded rather than squared off. If that makes a difference in price, I don't know. 25% of '69 Vettes got the deluxe hubcaps from the factory. When the deluxe hubcaps were ordered as an option, 4 black plastic valve extensions were placed in the storage compartment in an envelope.

I'm sure he's not worried about the proper valve extensions! any tire store one's will do. I kinda like them on the car, a nice change from the rings, and the black matches the top.......
