Hey Guys, I just purchased a 72 L48 to restore, would anyone have any engine specs. Its running rough and I would like to do a compression test and replace all the vacuum lines that are plugged off? for a start.
Hi Barry,
New 72 to restore!!!! NICE!!!!
Including the info that Mel posted, a lot more necessary information you'll be needing are in the GM 1972 Chassis Service Manual. This book is available from many of the larger venders and will be worth far more than it's cost as you begin working on your car.
The 72 Assembly Instruction Manual, (AIM), also available from the same venders, will have the vacuum line diagrams; both for the engine and the headlights/wiper door.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
PS: According to my 71 CSM the compression is 160 psi. Max variation 20psi.
I've had a few classic cars over the years and have been out of the hobby for over a decade and have always liked early C3's.
I purchased this 72 last week ...Thanks for your help Gentleman.
