Loaned my GM manual out. Does anybody know which wire (gray, white, or dark green) should be spliced to control the power antennae up/down or turning it on? When installing a new aftermarket stereo, there is a (Blue - in the case of Pioneer) wire that is used to activate the antennae up/down motion when power applied by the new aftermarket head unit.
Which wire do I connect the blue Pioneer head unit wire to from the 3 antennae wires in the car?

If you're dealing with an original or "service replacement" GM antenna(which it sounds like), the radio antenna lead does NOT go to any of the white/grey/green wires.
There is an antenna relay. I believe the relay is in the jack compartment on 80-82. If not there it's under the center arm rest all the way to the rear like 78/79.
You will see a yellow(may be pink on 80-82) and orange wire feeding into the relay.
The yellow is the trigger that would connect to your radio antenna output.
Orange is constant hot which allows the antenna to retract when the ignition is turned off.
You'll also see the plug with the white/grey/green wires going to the antenna.
If you want to 'bench' test the antenna, hook up like this......
UP
Green +
Grey -
DOWN
White +
Green -
Pull the connector from the relay and using a couple of lengths of wire go right to the battery.
