Default Headlight door adjustment?

Well, on my 69 I know there is a set screw / bolt to adjust the door so when it closes the door is flush with the nose...............I am probably looking right at it but I just don't see it.

Can someone show me the exact spot to look and the process to adjust the door close?

Hi drc,
You really should buy the 69 AIM and GM 69 Chassis Service Manual. They'll be a big help as you work on your 69.
The 'stop screw' for the closed position is the small hex headed screw in the very center of the mechanism. You're looking at the end of the hex in this picture.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Thanks. I do have the Chassis Service Manual and looking at the diagram and the description it was not clear to me. Your pic verify's what I need to do.

So, what is the best way to get to the hex head screw, do you have the engine running and just adjust / flip headlights, etc. until you hit the exact level spot to the nose?

I also ordered the Assembly Manual, as although most things are working well I want to have 100% of everything working as it should.

Tks. again.

Hi drc,
It's very possible to reach up through the left and right 'breather' openings in the lower valance with the headlight door closed and adjust the bolt until you get the door flush with the surround.
I found that I also had to adjust the 2 bearing/pivot points for the door in order to get all 4 corners of the door flush with the surround.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
