My understanding is the best rebuilt calipers have S.S. liners in the bore so I assume the cores get honed and the liner pressed in so you use a STOCK diameter piston. Correct? Otherwise a different diameter piston would change the hydraulic force.???
So what do you do if you need to rebuild a SS-lined caliper?
Thanks.
The stock calipers are bored out and an SS sleeve is pressed in. The finished ID of the sleeve is identical to an original caliper, so stock pistons and seals fit perfectly.
Thanks guys!
I have a moderate pull to the left when first start driving but it goes away after a few hard stops and is quite controlable. Caliper is a rebuilt unit without a lot of use but way out of warranty.
Don't know what else it could be but the right caliper is sticking (after not being driven several weeks) since it goes away ............
