Default Engine harness questions

In the process of replacing my engine wiring harness, I've come across a few wires that I'm unsure of. Its a new engine harness from lectric limited correct for my 72 base 350 4 speed. There are two wires that come out of the harness right by the wiper motor, they are both pretty long maybe a foot or two. One is black with a 90 degree rubber boot at one end with a single female connector inside. The other is sort of tan with a single plastic female slip connector at the end. I also have a dark blue wire that stubs out right near the wiper door actuator with a long single female slip connector at the end that has no home. I am guessing at least one or two of these are the TCS wires? Maybe one for the electric choke? I have the motor and tranny out of the car so hard to find where they go right now. I don't plan on using the TCS stuff as it was all missing when I bought the car anyways (and it seems pretty useless). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi 72,
I believe the long wire with the 90 degree boot is the tcs connection on the transmission. It signals the tcs solenoid what gear the transmission is in.
I can't tell from your description about the others, any chance of a picture? I'm thinking tcs connection for the solenoid mounted on the pass side of the intake manifoldfor the one near the actuator.
Regards,
Alan

Hi 72,
Your pictures and Mike's page help some.
The 2 connections in the same picture are for the heater/defroster blower motor.
I still don't see anything like the single blue wire... making me think tcs connection?
Regards,
Alan

Thanks guys, that pic Is a little hard to follow but It definitely helps. I actually already plugged the two heater wires in, so like you said I think the blue one is the TCS line and I'm missing the extension wire that connects to it. The 90 degree boot looks like it's the tranny side of the TCS. And my other wire is the carb solenoid in the diagram I believe. None of these were being used before I pulled my motor and old harness, don't think I'll be using them on the new one either.

I haven't looked, but I'm willing to bet the engine harness is generic and used on all applications. It's entirely possible some of the harness connectors were not used for your engine.
