You need to know tire size to calculate it exactly but there are many speed calculators on the internet. I would have to say 3.55s though. RPMs seem low for 3.70s
My car (with turbo 400 tranny) turns 3000 rpm at 70 mph. I have 235R60-15 tires (same O.D. as original tires) and have a 3.36 rear gear. I think a 3.55 gear would have you turning about 3200 rpm and a 3.70 gear would put you at [or over] 3300 rpm.
I now have a 700R4 transmission in the car and turn 2150 rpm at 70 mph (when in lockup mode).
Th350 stock in 1980 l82. Car is sittin at 3000rpm at 70mph. 3.55 or 3.70? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a 3.36 gearset to me.
On the underside of the diff housing, there are numbers and letters stamped. The first two generally spec the diff ratio (in code). The next number identifies the production plant, and the last three numbers will identify the production date. (In Julian calendar code- January first would be 001, December 31 would be 365,etc.)
You can post the numbers here and someone can probably interpret them for you.
