Default Headlight Help

I replaced my seals and boots in both actuators and they go up now. Slow but they do go up. Actually I'm not sure how fast they are supposed to go up so they might be great. Anyway my left light doesn't want to go down unless I get out while the engine is running and lift on it just enough to let the little overcenter link move. Anybody know if there is an adjustment for this. I have looked in my shop manual and it doesn't give any help. Sure could use some advise on this one.

On my 73 the lamp on/switch was missing on one light and this allowed the light up to the point it would not close. Instead of replacing the $30 switch I put a rubber ring around the arm and this kept the light linkage from raise too far. I know its a Bubba but it works.

RMS73 I'm not sure what you mean by lamp on/switch?

I just did the same job on mine last week, my left light wouldn't go down at all, and both were going up very slow. I also got the complete vacuum line replacement kit from Zip. Now both lights go up quicker, and both will go down, the left light is still a little slower though. You might want to check your vacuum lines and also the T-connectors, any leaks will only decrease the overall performance of the system. Seemed to help for me, good luck.
Oh yeah, taking those actuactors out and reinstalling them sure can be a pain huh?!? :smash:
