More Pesky Head Install Questions
1) Do I lubricate the threads of all bolts (have the ARP head bolt kit) with my PErmatex thrad sealer? The ARP instructions say "if cylinder head bolts into the water jacket, lubricate the threads of the bolts with arp thrad sealer. If cylinder head bolts protrude into blind hole, lubricate the threads with arp moly assembly lubricant. So which are blind holes and which are water jacket holes?
2) at the bottom of the arp instructions it says "do not use any other moly lubricant. use only arp moly lube or head gasket failure can result." JEEZ! I got some Sta-Lube engine and assembly lube with moly and graphite. Should this be sufficient?
3) TFS documentation says 3 levels up to 70 ft. lbs of torque on head bolts. ARP docs say 60ft lbs. Who to believe?
Otherwise, instructions are pretty straight forward and I feel fairly confident in the procedure. Summit is backored til the 17th on pushrods though! :( :( :(
And finally (I think I already know the answer to this one)...
4) Can I install intake/carb/dist/etc without pushrods or is that just plain dumb?
thanks again for your help!! I'll update you with the progress. But seeing as summit is being really slow, it may be awhile. . . .

3) Aluminum heads are usually 75, and cast iron are usually 65, I would go with 70 like the head manufacturer recommends.
4) Yes, you can. The only thing you need to do to install pushrods is have the valve covers off, and the rocker arms loose.
Since you have the heads off, if you haven't put in a new camshaft and lifters, now would be the perfect time.
