engine temp sender question.

I found this online:
TEMPERATURE SENDER, WITH GAUGE -- Male connector, 1 terminal, closed at 100 degrees Fahrenheit 1425 Ohms with 7 percent tol, open at 220 degrees Fahrenheit 147 Ohm with 15 percent tol, male terminal, blade terminal type; A high quality, direct fit OE replacement temperature sender; With 90-day or 3,000-mile Standard limited warranty.
It is a correct replacement temperature sending sensor, but I also found:
AC DELCO ENGINE COOLANT TAIL GATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY -- A high quality, direct fit OE replacement engine coolant tail gate sensor assembly; Replaces OE number 10045847; With 12-month or 12,000-mile AC Delco warranty.
I don't know the difference other than the physical configuration. The engine coolant tail gate sensor assembly resembles the sensor on the right side of the engine (passenger) with a two wire connection and the temperature sender with gauge (TS-76) resembles the sender on the left side of engine (driver) with blade connection.
