I didn't think that it was possible to break "Energy Suspension" poly locking motor mounts. My Hooker supercomp headers saved me from real problems. I was doing some max effort launches and my steering became very difficult when I had my foot on the floor. The motor rotated up and the header pipe would wedge against the steering rag joint.
I was just screwing off because the motor is a couple of years old and I was going to pull it and refresh it this winter
So I stopped by Summit racing and bought Morroso solids
I think that the 335 rear tires hook too hard when conditions are just right
Thanks for allowing your setup to be used as the mule for torque testing those mounts, gkull. That's a big footprint so no wonder there's enough patch to absorb all that twist.

In Energy Suspensions defense. The motor mounts are about two years old and a 5 speed tranny with a lite weight flywheel is probably really abusive.
You are following the exact issue I had a couple of years ago.
I bust a 6 month old Poly mount and even before it let go I used to have problems with my supercomp headers contacting the rag joint under hard acceleration.
I moved to solids and wish I had done so years ago.
I don't notice any downside or increase in vibration in the car, but it feels great when you hit the gas. I know that there is absolutely no effect on power, but everything feels "tighter" and more "alive". Sounds naff, I know, but swap to solid mounts and you'll see what I mean.
I still have a rubber mount on the transmission (TKO600) and have run this way for about 2 years with no problems.

I've broken OE mounts before, but this surprises me. In any event, the Moroso solids have served me well for many years, and I will even more highly recommend them for high-perf applications from now on.
FWIW, in addition to a spreader, upgrading to solid mounts stiffens up the front end further still.
My buddy was over laughing and told me a good mechanic would have a chain on the drivers side securing the motor!
Oh...I have pictures of one of these bubba jobs. I have a pretty firm rule that I don't do R&R on engine builds...but I had a buddy that called me and wanted a build, and asked me to PLEASE help. Found a chain welded to a piece of angle iron bolted to the block, and the PS pump was bolted to a piece of angle welded to the frame.
Needless to say, that was just the beginning of the fun with that build. I also ended up with a 2' diameter ball of wire cleaning up electrical issues. That's what I get for breaking my own rules
