I cleaned the garage the other day and moved/ceneted my quicklift in the door opening. Last night I was pulling the car onto the kwiklift. I usually go up about 5 ft. then open the door and look under the door at the front tire for alignment on the ramp.. You get this picture.. One foot on the clutch, one on the brake, one hand on the steering, one on the door with my head wrenched under to see where I'm going.. I took my foot off the brake and before I could let out the clutch and give gas I rolled back down the ramp just enough to catch the lip of the door on the garage door track. I must have just missed it several time but since the ramp was off center it didn't hit and I didn't notice. It could have been a lot worse but it chipped the paint along the seam of the door. Just paint damage. If it wasn't the seam it wouldn't be too bad .. would still suck but not as noticable. Off to the body shop to see what this mistake is going to cost me.. I hate spending money on stupid mistakes..
You are luck. i did that rolling the car in neutral out of the garage and ripped off a 1.5" x 3" piece of my driver's side door. STUUUUUUUUUUUPID.
I was pushing an old Toyota All-Trac one time (going backwards with one foot, holding the driver's door open, downhill a bit) for one reason or another, and I caught the bottom of the door on a hidden stump (there was about 6" of snow on the ground at the time). Peeled the door skin right off the bottom! Was I p!ssed! Can you say dumb?
