Simply amazing. The knowledge and persistance you have really shines. I have watched your other cars and have been amazed at the power you can produce. This car seems to take it to the next step. Keep it coming. You are an insperation to many here. Thanks for posting this up.

Beautiful work, outstanding results!
I *love* "sleeper" stock-looking engines - but you've taken that concept to a whole new level!
Did you need spacers to get the valvetrain under the stock (or stock-looking) covers?

Appreciate it!
Thanks for the kind words! My spacers are two gaskets on each side that have been glued together.
The other thing I did to these valve covers is to TIG weld the valve cover retainers to the valve cover itself. I did it from the underside so as to not be visible.

Geez, how boring. Another stock '67...wait...errrr....HOLLLLLY CRAPPPPP!!!!!
Truly awesome, Steve! Your posts are never boring. So is that the stock ignition setup? Points? Stock wires? And did you make any runs with and w/out the air cleaner setup on and tell us what kind of restrictions that thing causes?

I made a bunch of runs with and without the air cleaner. I tested a special K&N 2-1/2" tall air filter and the stock foam air filter. The K&N was only 1.56 rwhp and .32 rwtq better than the stock filter. The K&N lost about 2.5 rwhp versus having no air cleaner on it at all. The real shocker was when I made a run with just the air cleaner base installed. It picked up around 10 rwhp versus no air cleaner! Now that is quite a difference.

You can ignore me.... had a brain fart.
Had to look at the pic maybe 3 min before i could see what you did there.....
4 muffs 2 with chrome tips and 2 with black turn downs.
i could not see the black turn-downs and thought there was NO outlet on the inner 2 muffs.
Which as you can imagine made my brain hurt..... 8-/

Steve my dyno testing also showed that the carb wanted to have the air cleaner base on.....it was around 10hp on mine as well.... Not to mention a MUCH better air fuel curve with the base on. At the track, I run the base only and it gets the highest MPH.

Steve, GREAT numbers and GREAT job. Your work is so impressive, that you should have your own TV show. Boyd Codgington has passed on, and Chip Foose doesn't have any live shows anymore. So, it would be fun to see your stuff in HD every week.

Thanks - but let me try to revive you. White letters are what I grew up with. Since those pics were taken I have turned the white letters in so now there are no white letters showing. Now what "kills me" are huge wheels with rubber bands for tires. But that's another debate...
Steve
I need new pics for proof..
My dad is the same way... I like big wheels to an extint.... anyways, bump for more pics!!!!!!
