You use a button when you run a roller cam.

Yep, a roller *requires* a cam button to prevent cam walk.

Don't forget to fold those metal tabs up snug to your bolt heads.

Looks like the large diameter goes in first then the lock plate holds it in.
Take the lock plate off and install the button.

there is a taper on flat tappet cam lobes that is not necessary on roller cams. so with a roller cam yes you will need a button.

Do you have a bearing/wearplate under the timing gear?

remove the 3 bolts that hold that lock plate on, remove the lock plate, insert the roller button, large end goes toward cam, reinstall lockplate and bend at least one of the tabs up against each bolt head flat, I'm running the same lunati chain w/wearplate setup and roller button on my 355 w/ retrofit roller.

Thanks a million times over guys!
Yes there is a bearing plate on the backside of the cam gear.
Removed the lock plate and it fits much nicer.
Thank you all so much for the help.
