Fuelpump stopped working? 76 c3
It has worked just perfectly until i stored it in my garage, had it stored in another garage previously. I had it out three weeks ago just to wash the exterior of it, the car fired up as good as usual.
Today, i was going to start it up and i noticed i wasnt hearing the fuelpump of which i usually hear when it is in ignition. You can hear it really well since it is really really loud. It is an aftermarket pump, but i dont know the brand. Must be some kind of high pressure pump due to the sound of it, and nothing happened when i turned the key. The starter didnt go around or anything. There was no lights on the panel either.
I thought to myself that the battery was dead, so i went to buy a new one and when i disconnected the old one, i noticed a thick cable on the pluspole just hanging loose, i think this one goes to the starter and all that. I am not sure if this was loose before disconnecting it, or if it went loose while disconnecting it. Since the pluspole had a "plug in, plug out" type of thing, you know you just lift them right up and off they go from the pole, and they are pretty ******. I bought a clamp style terminal and connected it properly.
Now i got the lights and all electric opponents back, but i still cant hear the fuelpump, and when i turn the key the starter just run around.
1. Where is the fuelpump usually located on this model? Inside the gastank?
2. Is there some kind of relay to the fuelpump that could be causing this problem?
3. Other ideas that you would like to share with me? I was just about to stall it for the winter. Also, i noticed a very thin brown cable hanging loose from the generator, but it didnt help with connecting it. Any ideas of what this cable could be?
Thanks! I would also want to point out that english is not my native language, i hope this causes no trouble to anyone.
