I know I've seen a thread detailing how to modify the courtesy light timer in a 77 so the lights will just stay on when the door is open. I've searched but can't find anything for a 77 and I know the timer is specific to that year. Can anyone help me out?
If I remember right. you jump the two white wires where the timer plugs in. If you don't know already it is taped to the main harness between the tach and speedo.
Thanks Vanice, you were correct. I put a jumper between the two white wires in the socket and the lights now come on when the doors are open and go off when they are closed. Thanks!
You could access it by removing the driver's side lower dash panel and trying to tilt the top of the panel out to see if you can get at the timer, but it's easier to remove the dash pad. The lower dash panel has a lot of stuff attached to it and doesn't come out easy. I know because I just removed my entire interior to paint it
