1977 Speedo Cable Question?
When I removed my instrument cluster, I noticed that the flexible cable that is inside the rubber/plastic speedo cable had caught on something and was hanging out about 12 inches. I was able to just push it back in, but now I'm wondering if I've broken it? I did a search on this and didn't find anything other than I checked and the PO had removed the cruise control and installed a one piece speedo cable. Thoughts/advice?

Inner cable will pull all the way out of the outer cable. Push inner back in and twist untill you can't turn it anymore to reseat into the driven gear at the transmission. Should be about flush with outer jacket when properly seated I believe. mike...
