I have a 69 vette and am installing a hydroboost unit.
Where are you guys getting the adapter plate from.

Default hydroboost firewall mount

Here is one place. I made my own, but this looks like it would work well.

I thought they had to be about a 1/2 inch thick plate

It depends on the way you install it.
The mounting plate that I am using is a stock Astro Van mounting plate, and is only about 1/8" thick.

Some use the mounting plate as the spacer so the accuator rod to the brake pedal lines up. Others, and myself, make the rod adjustable or get the correct length. So as long as the plate is strong enough to support the weight of the booster and M/C, thickness does not matter. The one you may see on here that is 1/2" thick, the guys son is a machinist and custom made that out of alum. Mine is made out of 3/8 plate, becasue that is what I had.

Our CNC machinist son made me one:

I'm sure he saved the program, so he could probably make another one.
