the mess is all over the floor, the time has come to change the radiator. also the support assy has corrosion at the base. any idea's on how to get the parts at a fair price. both item's are big hitters to the wallet. p.s this is a great site, could not wait to join!
Hey Stump! Welcome. Here's what I would do. It's easy to assume the radiator is sheeet. But I would pull it first and take a good look. I pulled mine, and then I took my $12 Wal-Mart syphon sandblaster, and I blasted the living crap out of it. I took it to the bare metal, and then I took a real good look at it. What I found, isn't that bad. The mysterious leak turned out to be a crack at the upper intake. No big deal, easy to repair. The rest of it looks great. So it gets a minor weld, new paint, and in it goes.
My support will also get sandblasted, CLR'd (Wal-Mart sells the cheap stuff for half as much, and it works just as well) and then it will be treated to some Eastwood Coroless and some glossy black paint. It has some corrosion, but nothing that warrants replacing.
So while you might have to crappy pieces, at least inspect them first. You don't want to make a mountain out of a moehill. Your $800 job might only be a fifty dollar job.
