Default S.S. Sleaved Brakes

My winter project are my brakes want to go to O-ring calipers was going to buy new ones but now I learn that I can just rebuild the ones on the car as long that they are S.S. sleeved how do i know whether they are or not can i just tell by looking or by the part numbers? Who sells the best rebuild kit? The calipers on the car are blue and do not look like O.E. but who knows on a 36 year old car. Any info will be appreciated going to order the parts asap and tear it apart after the Holidays

I'd take the calipers off and look at what you have before ordering anything. If they are SS sleeved you will easily see shiny silver under the dust shields and seals. If they aren't then don't mess with them and get new ones. Vette Brakes & products, muskeegon brake, willcox will have rebuild kits for everything you need.

Very simple rebuild. I did mine in a weekend.
I'm waiting on hose lines to show up so I can replace all of them.

Entire kit is 119 dollars.
If you want to go with just new brake hoses, recommend getting SS set for around 40.

I took off my front hoses and twisted the lines so I decided to take them all off and get all new lines. Taking off wasn't too bad minus one bolt at the left rear wheel. We'll see how the install goes.

Rebuild O ring kit runs about 10 dollars a caliper.

can you rebuild one caliper at a time with the O-ring kits and keep driving ? i have one caliper leaking and want to rebuild that caliper now.....and do the rest later. makes sense to just buy the kit up front.

The preferred method is to do both sides at the same time to maintain equal braking power at that end of the Vette; however, just fixing the one leaky caliper is better than not fixing it at all.

Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes (CSSB) is another option and carries everyting you need. As an FYI VBP is backordered on the O-ring kits. They were nice enough to point me to CSSB which was also another company that was easy to work with. They had everything in stock and shipped the parts the very next day.
